Thai Monastery, Bodhgaya

 

Thai Monastery, Bodhgaya is another incredible gem from the treasure chest of Bihar. Established in 1957 with the help of Thailand’s government and Indian Buddhist monks, this temple is a must-see in Bodhgaya. Made in typical architecture style of Thailand, this temple reflects the culture and traditions of Thailand.

  It is an urban oasis sprawling across a generous area of 22 acre.  The highlight of the park are two Bodhi trees, planted by the Dalai Lama, which flank a statue of Lord Buddha. Vikramshila Ruins, Bhagalpur

  Reconed to be one of the two important Buddhist learning centres in Bihar, Vikramshila was established by King Dharampala. It is believed that the king was displeased with the depleting quality of Nalanda, thus he decided to establish another better institute for learning. Vikramshila now lies in ruins but renovation work has begun now. During the excavation, Buddhist monasteries, stupas and several wall carvings have been unveiled here.

पुनौरा धाम

  बिहार के सीतामढ़ी जिले के पुनौरा गांव में मां जानकी जन्मभूमि मंदिर है जिसे पुनौरा धाम के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि माता सीता का जन्म इसी स्थान पर हुआ था। इससे जुड़ी कथा है कि मिथिला में एक बार भीषण अकाल पड़ी और वहां के  पुरोहित ने राजा जनक को खेत में हल चलाने की सलाह दी। जब राजा जनक हल चला रहे थे तब जमीन से मिट्टी का एक पात्र निकला, जिसमें माता सीता शिशु अवस्था में थी। पुनौरा धाम में मंदिर के पीछे जानकी कुंड के नाम से एक सरोवर है। इस सरोवर को लेकर मान्यता है कि इसमें स्नान करने से संतान प्राप्ति होती है। यहां पंथ पाकार नाम की प्रसिद्ध जगह है। यह जगह माता सीता के विवाह से जुड़ी हुई है। इस जगह पर प्राचीन पीपल का पेड़ अभी भी है, जिसके नीचे पालकी बनी हुई है। पुनौरा धाम आस्था का केंद्र है और यहाँ जरूर जाना चाहिए। 3 फरवरी, 2022 को पर्यटन मंत्री जी. किशन रेड्डी द्वारा राज्यसभा में बताया गया कि बिहार के पुनौरा धाम को स्वदेश दर्शन योजना के रामायण सर्किट में तथा प्रसाद योजना में शामिल किया गया है। बिहार के सीतामढ़ी जिले के पुनौरा धाम गाँव में माँ जानकी जन्मभूमि मंदिर है,...
